Overview
Connecting USB with the traditional RS-232 serial port, this adapter connects cellphones, PDAs, digital cameras, modems, or ISDN terminal adapters through your USB port. Has a data transfer rate of over 230 kbps. Since the adapter uses no IRQs, there are no IRQ conflicts, and it is ideal for when you need many serial devices attached to your PC. This adapter was recommended by the author of the unusual free application, a Morse Telegraph interface, which uses the signal control lines instead of RD/SD for data transfer. [...] That said I've been using serial RS-232 comms since the mid 1960's for both business and pleasure and now retired I will be using it for other pleasure apps as well.

Like someone else stated, the 64 bit drivers (version 3.0.2) are unreliable, they cause a blue screen of death with multiple-IRP_complete_requests error and this happens at 115.200 bps. The other user had the same problem at a slower speed. This problem makes the product unusable on 64 bit operating systems.

Comments about 1.5ft USB to DB9 Serial Adapter Cable:
Am using this device to connect between several networking hardware serial ports (a.k.a. "Console Management" connections) and a USB-only laptop running Vista and PuTTY.
Can't say if this product would be suitable for ALL serial-to-USB applications ...
... but in THIS particular application, the device installed easily and w/o incident the first time; and has operated flawlessly since the first "connect" attempt.
