Does not work with 64-bit Windows 7
This cable/driver installs properly but my 64-bit system cannot connect to any devices through it. Apparently this is a problem with cables from other mfg.s as well.

Hardware Good - Software Bad
I use this product several times a week in my job, and so do some of my coworkers. The product is nice for us because our laptops do not have Serial ports, so we use this product to console into networking equipment.
The biggest issue I have with this product is the drivers for it. I use Windows 7 64-bit and so do my coworkers. This device will almost always (4 out of 5 times) bluescreen my laptop, especially when I'm in debug mode or if I'm receiving a lot of info from the console. I have tried the last three versions of the drivers and none of them have helped the bluescreen issues.
CablesToGo: Please, PLEASE fix the issues this device has with Windows 7 64-bit. If a new driver is not released soon, my coworkers and I will have to find a more compatible product.

works like a dream
Used to convert roller mouse from old computer to new laptop. Worked just as avertized. All i had to do was plugin and let computer find drivers, was working within 3 minutes. Much more enjoyable than finger pad that came with new computer. Very happy with this buy.

64 bit drivers don't work
This works great as long as you are on XP 32-bit. If you are on a 64-bit machine it will BSOD your box when you run at a speed of 19200. No matter what I plug it into, speed 19200 works for about 1 min then I get a BSOD with Multiple_IRP_Request errors.

Doesn't support higher voltage RS232
product fails to communicate with older devices that have higher RS232 signal levels. This device has a TX signal level of about -6.4 volts. Older devices range from -10 to -12 volts. The signal level in the older devices appears to hang the hardware and then the Windows Device driver as well. Works well with newer device that have compatible signal voltage levels.

Did Not Work
I purchased this UART converter cable to connect to two new HP 1950 12XGT switches via their console ports. It will not connect from my laptop to either of them, connecting this adapter cable to the serial to RJ45 console cable that came with the devices.
I cannot say that the adapter cable is bad, because it might just be an HP serial cable pinning issue, so I will not return it. Hopefully that is the case, because if I knew the cable was bad for sure, I would return it. Since serial connections are SO obsolete, I have nothing to test this cable with, so I am stuck I guess.

Only worked part of the time for me
This cable worked but then the device I was using it with hung. An alternative cable worked 100% of the time. The device was a serial scale.
Further this cable has no ability to screw into mounted posts. The screws are embedded in the molded plastic which was a problem for me. I had to take out the posts on the connecting device.

Worked perfectly with Win7
I was able to interface a UltraSmart Glucometer which had a DB9 interface to my new Win7 laptop's USB port. The vendor of the UltraSmart did not recommend using Win7, yet the UltraSmart worked with Win7 using this interface cable. Software driver installed on Win7 without any problems.

Works great on a MacBook Pro
I use the USB Serial DB9 Adapter Cable on a MacBook Pro to connect to Cisco hardware and a few HP MSAs. Works great and is VERY reliable. Cables To Go support via chat provided me a link to the driver. The driver had an install program. Highly recommended USB Serial DB9 Adapter.

Good security product
This product was recommended to me by Schlage security systems to convert their serial cable to our USB computer port. Not any cable would work. I found that this cable worked after buying others. If you need commercial quality like we do for our security system, this adapter is great. You can't have one problem when dealing with security, and this cable absolutely works. Also, great technical support if you have compatibity problems. My software had a wrong setting which they and Schlage helped me figure out the problem. Great cable !!!!!!!!!!

Unreliable with Win764
Does not work reliably with Win7-64bit on laptop but seems to work ok on our Win7-64 bit desktop. Don't know what the difference could possily be. Runs about a minute and then gets hung up. Cables TO GO has indicated several times they;re trying to get this fixed. Running 2400/8/1/N so not pushing the speed barrier at all! Driver on CD is late 2010 and not up to date. Use the driver on the website. We've been trying for months to get something that will work reliably on WIN764.

USB to Serial Adaptor
I'm an electronics system technician and I use this adpator to service more than 350 pieces of equipment. I use this adpater with Vista Business edition and a 3.0 USB port. It works great. I also like the that the length of the cable is longer than my old 2.0 adapter. No cons.

It worked great
This adapter was used to connect an old court reporter's steno machine to a modern laptop. I had to get from the db9 connector on the steno machine to the laptop and the only port available was a USB port. This did the trick and worked fine.

A real money saver
I collect DVD's and use a laser scanner in conjunction with a program to keep track of my collection. I recently bought a new computer and found it had no serial port. I needed to connect my laser scanner so I purchased this adapter cable to make my serial port scanner work as a USB unit.
It saved me having to buy a $99.00 new scanner.
It works great and I'm back to filing my DVD's.
