(1) USB-A Male, (1) DVI-D Dual Link Male
(1) DisplayPort Female
Product Description
Send video signal from an existing desktop computer or another source device with a DVI-D video output port to a projector or monitor with a DisplayPort input. This converter is an ideal solution schools, conference rooms, or other work spaces when upgrading to a new monitor or projector. Straightforward install There is no need for an external graphics adapter or extra converters. This simple plug and play converter changes the DVI-D output signal to DisplayPort, no drivers are required for install nor additional power adapters. The all in one dongle style converter provides power from an onboard USB connection and requires no drivers for install. Supports cost savings Newer displays no longer offer DVI-D as an input. Utilizing this DVI to DisplayPort converter will allow for connection to a brand new monitor or projector without the added expense of updating the graphics card. Port protection technology The dongle style adapter reduces strain on the video port. The cable between the DVI-D connection and the converter provide strain relief that protects the port from strain damage as cords are moved. Simple power No need to utilize a power adapter. The DVI to DisplayPort converter pulls power from the DVI-D port bus power. If enough power is not supplied by the DVI port there is a USB plug attached to the converter which provides power as well.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nicki from Solved Resolution HassleMy brand new monitor came with two cords: one, an HDMI cable, couldn't connect with my older, slightly dysfunctional computer; the VGA cable worked, but the people and text were stretched across the screen at every start up. Getting to the right resolution was a daily nuisance. This adapter allowed me to use the HDMI port in the monitor, while using a DVI port in the old computer. Voila. Perfect. I consulted with customer service several times over the phone first, to figure out what to buy. They gave me good advice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by donn from Excellent fit and finish. The adapter was described well so that I could be certain, before buying, that it would do what I needed. Another plus: when it arrived, I found it was well-finished and its ports connected precisely to my Apple connectors. (After-market connectors sometimes seem made with little precision and fit too tightly or too loosely.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by gdfritz from The only device that worked for me.I tried getting a DVI to DisplayPort cable and it didn't work. However, this "Converter" solved my dual monitor problem. Seemed expensive but it was much cheaper than a new video card and it worked great!

Could an HDMI(output from device) to DVI cable be used in series with this adapter to convert an HDMI output to a DisplayPort monitor input?
Asked by: Curious
That would give you the correct connections, but any time you change a signal type multiple times you can run the risk of signal loss and corruption. We have not tested your specific solution and always recommend getting as close to a one part solution as possible.

Despite a dual-link DVI connector, this adapter only supports a resolution up 1920x1080? Dual-link DVI supports up to 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz. To get to 1920x1080 one would not need an active adapter to convert to HDMI. Please explain.

The description of this product is confusing. It's described as "dual-link", but it only supports resolution of 1920x1080 which is only single-link. Why doesn't C2G correct this instead of tricking the customer?
