The C2G HDMI Audio De-Embedder will split the audio from HDMI video and convert it to Toslink, Digital RCA, or a 3.5mm Stereo Audio signal to support an audio system that is separate from the display. The de-embedder will allow HDMI video to continue to the television or monitor while supplying audio to an audio system near the HDMI source.

This device is ideal for projector installations where the projector does not provide an audio output and the system design calls for the use of an amplified audio reinforcement system. The HDMI Audio De-Embedder provides the means to separate the audio from the HDMI signal and provide that audio to the amplifier. Setup is easy with minimal configuration time. Simply connect the HDMI and audio cables and power on the system.

The HDMI Audio De-Embedder features two audio modes, A and B. When set to Mode A, the de-embedder will allow EDID signals to pass-through between source and display which will automatically set the audio output to the best common digital audio performance level. When set to Mode B, the de-embedder allows the digital audio output of the source to be set independently of the capabilities of the display. In both Modes, A and B, the digital audio must be output through the Toslink or RCA port of the de-embedder. The 3.5mm output of the de-embedder requires that the source be set to the PCM audio mode.

Note: Digital signals, such as Dolby Digital and DTS audio, from the source device are supported through the Toslink and Digital RCA port. The 3.5mm port supports PCM audio signals from the source device. The source device must be set to a PCM audio mode to use the 3.5mm audio output.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product worked flawlessly required no programming of any such. I have not used the digital audio output only the analog. Only thing to know is that it does not take the audio out of the HDMI stream. It merely provides an analog/digital version of the HDMI audio. I used this in a TV install where I fed video and audio into this device. I sent analog audio to the mixing console, and sent the video to a Trulink HDMI over coax system to feed the TV. Worked great.

Will this work to split the hdmi output from the blu-ray player to the hdmi input of the HD tv. Then to the digital audio input of the receiver to create DTS Master as well as Dolby True surround? The blu-ray player has the capicity to do this but the reciever can only do standard DTS and Dolby digital, unless the multi channel inputs are used.Thank you.

I want to input the hdmi from my apple tv movie and send out the video and audio as is, dolby etc, to the tv, AND send an analog audio to my headphones/receiver (old receiver). Sounds like, to get the analog audio, I lose the Dolby output from the source? There are two outputs from the Apple TV, hdmi and digital audio toslink.
