Rated 1 out of 5 by Radio guy from I'm not sure what these are good forThe way there are wired seem to preclude their being useful for anything. We use a lot of RCA to 1/4" adapters to connect consumer and semi-pro gear to our studio consoles. Normally things work quite well. This time we plugged in a laptop's headphone out to a 1/8" TRS to twin RCA cable, put these adapters on the end, and plugged in to the back of a Yamaha 02R. No signal. Pulled it out a click. No signal. Replaced them with RCA to 1/4" mono adapters and all was well. We tested these adapters and found the positive of the RCA goes to both the tip and the sleeve of the 1/4"; that means they do exactly nothing when hooked to a balanced input. I'm trying to figure out what these could be used for, and can't come up with anything. Next time we will make sure we get RCA to mono 1/4"!

Rated 5 out of 5 by DJ-Joe from Adapter used for live sound recordingThis adapter is exactly what I needed to patch my Zoom R16 16-track recorder into a live-music production sound board. Recording an instrument/mic track normally requires an external splitter between the instrument or mic cable and the sound board. Using a standard ¼" patch cable plugged into the channel insert jack on the board provides access to the audio source for recording but interrupts the signal path to the board (not a good thing). This ¼" TRS to Mono RCA adapter allows the signal at the insert jack to continue to the board while providing an RCA jack for patching to my recorder. Sweet! No cable swapping or splitters are required and no signal loss! It's just a matter of plugging the recorder channels into the insert jacks and away you go! This adapter serves a vital function. Please keep it available for others to purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jay from Perfect for my needsI have a vintage record player with old speakers that plugged into the turntable base with long RCA plugs. I either had to replace them or put the whole thing back in the attic. I had an old pair of computer speakers I knew I could use except they had male cup type plugs. I tried a search for a patch cord that would solve the problem, found your item, and now I use that old record player every day. Great product and a perfect match for my needs.
