Connect to IR targets or line level devices into the system
(1) 3.5mm Female
Product Description
This 3.5mm keystone module snaps into standard keystone wall plates to allow you to connect IR targets into the IR control system. Connect a 3.5mm stereo cable from your PC sound card and play stereo sound throughout your distributed audio system. 3.5mm modules are easy to connect to UTP cable; simply push the terminal and insert the wire.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Home Improvement Sucker from Housing Is Too BigMany keystone wallplates pack the openings together in a fairly high-density pattern. Most keystone inserts are only as wide as the opening they fit into, allowing them to be packed together in that dense space. Not so with this one. The back housing overlaps adjacent "cells", so that you can't place two side-by-side in a standard decora housing. The part I don't get is *why* it has to be so big. It's just three wires connected to a 3.5mm tube. What's taking up all the space? Also in the awkward design department, the wiring terminals require the wires to enter from the side of the housing, rather than the back. Again, this makes it difficult to pack multiple units side-by-side. Back to the drawing board, guys.
