C2G 7-PORT USB HUB - WORKS GREAT, WELL BUILT
I bought a 4-port USB hub for use at a club to which I belong. It worked very well on a PC laptop we use for presentations, when none of the other hubs I had around the house would connect to the PC. I took a chance, ordered one of the C2G units, it worked perfectly, and solid as a rock. I had another issue with an external drive I had on my personal computer at home, which would not show up on my screen, so I tried the unit from the club's PC and it worked fine. I immediately ordered another 4-port and the 7-port to have on hand. Frankly, I thought the price was somewhat out of line compared to what I had gotten other USB hubs for, but the C2G units have proved so good, they will probably, gradually, replace my other hubs around the house. As I say, they are not cheap, but they work, and in the end that is all that counts.

C2G USB Hubs are Great!
This USB Hub takes up very little space and the mounting arrangement aids in the conservation of space. And it works great. C2G products are of very good quality.

USB 7 port usb hub
Works great. Built sturdy and will last a long time. I like the mount which stabilizes the hub when you plug a usb cable into it.

Questions & Answers
I tried using a longer USB mini B cable so that I could move my computer farther from the hub. A 6 foot cable did not work. The cable supplied with the hub I think is 3 feet. Any way to get this to work? Thicker cable? Thanks, Mike
This hub does work with a 6ft USB mini B cable. We would suggest at least using a 28AWG on the data lines and 24AWG for power lines. I would also suggest connecting the included power supply first and then connect the USB cable from the hub to the computer.

Does this require a driver when using it first time? When I plug it into my laptop, it says its driver needs to be installed to properly operate.
There are no drivers associated with this USB hub.

Purchased the 7-Port USB 2.0 Aluminum Hub to charge my Backberry Bold 9000 cell phone. It will not charge it! It charges everything else but the cell phones. Any idea why it will not work?
Please make sure the hub is connected to a computer with the mini USB cable. Sometimes the data line needs to be connected in order to have the cell phone charge.

Will this hub work with a 16ft cable to the computer? I intend to connect 6 cameras to the hub,fire them in sync, then send the photos to the computer using a 16 ft cable. I have a "gold" tip USB 2.0 A to miniB 16 ft cable.
