I see that other USB-C to SATA adapters can handle a 2.5" drive with no external power supply. Obviously, for 3.5" disks, you need an external power supply, which you provide. Question: Is the external power supply needed for a 2.5" drive?

Some Drivers can be directly power from The USB and does not need external power.
