Product Description

One component of a complete solution that, when paired with a transmitter (sold separately), conquers USB length limits. This solution extends the signal of a USB device to a host computer up to 150 feet, enabling you to place your USB projector, camera, printer, web cam, hub or other USB device exactly where you want it! Our USB superbooster wall plate is powerful yet simple, with no drivers to install or special software required. It's also compatible with any computer that supports USB.

The overall plug-and-play solution consists of this wall plate receiver, and your choice of a compatible transmitter that is sold separately: the wall plate (#29344), the dongle (#29348) or the keystone insert (#29349). Customize the configuration to your specific needs! This versatility is ideal for applications where you need flexibility at your computer/source side.

The complete solution is connected via a standard Cat5, Cat5E, or Cat6 UTP cable (not included) that provides easy in-wall installation. This delivers a clean, finished look important for homes, classrooms, offices and anywhere you don't want visible cables lying around. Use pre-terminated network cables, or pull unterminated cable and use the included toolless IDC RJ45 connector to terminate your own cable. Because the USB superbooster wall plate is bus-powered, no external power source is required. Compliant with USB specification 1.1.

Input: Two USB Type A Female
Output: One RJ45 Female

Please Note: The power demands of devices such as external drives and USB hubs may require the use of external power for proper operation.

Note: If the USB signal is being extended to support an interactive whiteboard, then we recommend using our product 29338. For more information about this recommendation, read our application bulletin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using for a USB wall-mounted camera We are building a webex/skype/video conference room and I wanted a wall mounted camera between dual wall mounted displays. To facilitate easy switching between laptops I chose a generic USB camera (also cheap!) and use these components to extend the USB distance. We have a transmitter mounted under the table feeding a port on top of the table then the CAT5 runs thru the floor and up the wall to a wall mounted receiver to connect the camera. Works slick!

When paired with the transmitter 29344 how much power would be available from each USB port for charging portable devices?

Asked by: cnott
The charging power will be cut to less than half because the device also requires power to function.
