The HDMI® and VGA + Stereo Audio HDBaseT over Cat Extender Transmitter is an ideal solution for extending audio/video signals from a Blu-ray™ player, laptop, Cable box, or other source device to a projector, HDTV, or Monitor. When paired with a compatible receiver, this transmitter extends HDMI, VGA and Stereo Audio signals over a single Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a network patch cable up to 230 feet at a 1080p resolution for HDMI and VGA, or 115 feet at 4K (4096 x 2160 at 30Hz, 4:4:4) for HDMI. The local HDMI output allows an additional HDMI display to be supported via an HDMI cable. Switching between HDMI and VGA inputs is made easy with three options available. The automatic switching option displays the last connected device. There are also two manual switching options. The first manual switching option is the buttons on the front of the transmitter. The second manual switching option is through Serial RS232 switching which accepts serial commands from a control device, like ourTruLink® A/V Controller.

This solution is compatible with any operating system and is truly plug and play with no drivers or software required. This solution utilizes TruChoice™ power, which allows power to be supplied over the Cat cable to both the transmitter and receiver from a single power adapter placed at either the transmitter or the receiver end of the solution. HDBaseT technology supports HDCP and allows the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) signals, i.e. communication of the display’s capabilities, to pass through the extension solution ensuring that the content from the source is sent at the optimal resolution for the display. This transmitter is compatible with any of the HDMI HDBaseT receivers offered by C2G and works with our DB9 to RJ25 Serial RS232 cables.

Note: Stranded Cat5e/6/6a patch cables may be used for HDMI extension applications up to 230ft. Shielded, solid conductor Cat6 or HDBaseT Certified Cat6a network cabling is recommended for applications where the category cable must be coiled, is run near other high-frequency signaling cables, or in high EMI/RFI environments. For best performance use a Cat6 Solid Shielded Patch Cable or an HDBaseT Certified Cat6a Patch Cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless Cat5 Extender We have been using these in rooms where equipment failure would be very bad. This system works great. I don't have any worries about them

If I'm connected with a VGA input, do the local HDMI output is giving me an upscale version of it? Do both output HDBaseT and the HDMI are working at the same, making it a 3x2 switcher?

Asked by: Anonymous
This will not upscale the signal. Both outputs will work at the same time.
