Product Description
Connect eSATA devices to SATA controllers with the Type A connector, or eSATA controllers to SATA drive enclosures with the Type A connector. This cable meets SATA I and SATA II specifications. eSATA provides more performance than current solutions, is hot-pluggable, and also SATA 3.0 compatible with transfer rates up to 6 Gbps!

You can now utilize shielded cable lengths up to 2 meters outside the PC to take advantage of the benefits the SATA interface brings to storage.

SATA is now out-of-the-box as an external standard, with specifically defined cables, connectors, and signal requirements. With eSATA, you get a robust and user-friendly external connection with high performance and cost-effective expansion storage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MC from Works as expected - I'd buy it again.. Works as expected. Drive(s) are detected immediately, and transfer rates seem consistent. I use the cable to connect to a Western Digital WD1001FALS drive without an enclosure for quick backups. My only complaint is that if you use it to connect to an internal 3.5" drive without an enclosure, the plastic surrounding the SATA connector was too wide and couldn't be connected to the drive with the adjacent power connector attached. I ended up having to trim some of the plastic off the side of the SATA connector adjacent to the power connector so that it would fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Doug T from Connectors not deep enough While the cable was of high quality, the connectors were not deep enough to seat properly in a Firmtek SeriTek/1EN2 enclosure. You're best off buying the cables direct from Firmtek for that application. We're only talking <2mm but it was enough to make the connections flimsy and liable to fall out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kakerushun1 from Awesome Cable I am building another gaming rig and used this cable. The cable construction quality is unsurpassed! Easily routed this cable without the use of ungodly looking cable ties. I will complete the current rig with more of these cables.
