RJ45 to DB9 Male Serial RS232 Modular Adapter - Gray

Product Description

Using modular adapters with inexpensive silver satin or flat oval twisted pair wire has become a standard way to run client server applications. Needing to connect dumb terminals on the desktop back to a central patch panel or directly to a MUX via RS-232, many network planners have implemented modular adapters as the most cost-effective way to complete the connections.

Whether used in a wiring closet or throughout the office, color-coded modular adapters lend easy identification and differentiation to your cable plan. By color-coding your connections, you reduce troubleshooting time while taking full advantage of the benefits of this modular adapter approach.

Please Note: Picture shows this adapter before assembly; this modular adapter will need to be assembled so that it is functional. There is not a universal way to assemble them, so please contact us for details. We'll be happy to assemble any adapter (for a nominal labor charge) to fit your application so that they are ready to use upon arrival. Click here or call us for a custom quote for modular adapter assembly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confirming pinouts I've used an ohmmeter to confirm Bob the Builder's pinout chart. Thanks for that, Bob! They are the same for the RJ45F/DB9 adapters too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from need pin diagrams! Would be helpful to have a pin color chart to know which color related to which leg of the RJ45 side of the adapter. Very hard to peek down inside there and get the order correct. Here's my informal pin diagram: (As viewed from the DB9 side, left to right): 1 Blu 2 Org 3 Blk 4 Red 5 Grn 6 Yel 7 Brn 8 Gry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hardware Great piece of hardware. Perfect for custom serial connections. Make sure you know your pinnout because guessing will make using it very difficult.

Where can I get a pin extractor?

Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately we would not carry a Pin Extractor Tool. These tools can usually be found on any PC associated site or you may want to check some of our resellers. We have a where to buy link at the bottom of our page.

Hello I bought several of your 02947 RJ45 to DB9M modular adapters. on the RJ 45 side do you have a list of the pins 1-8 and the wire color associated with the pin?

Asked by: Chad Casey
We do not have a list of pins as they would be assigned by what equipment you are connecting to with this adapter.
