6-foot is too short
I bought one of these for my older LCD TV. Then when I moved it, I needed at least a 12-foot length to cross a wall (An extension cord would be seen in the middle of a wall).

This cable is rated for 125 Volts and 7 Amps. It should be fine for your player. Please make sure that it can accept a polarized connector.
