Simple description confusing to tech.
No question the product is good quality. What is confusing to some is the description. As in all areas of society we try to make things over simple and fool proof (the stupider we treat people, the dumber they get). In the case of the RJ-45 couplings, to a technician straight through is literally just that, straight!! (it would make a x-over cable when connecting two cables together). And cross-over is just what it says,.. cross-over (and it would make a straight thru cable when connecting two cables). However, even the diagram in the specs shows the pin-out of the far ends of the two cables connected with the coupling, not the actual pin-out of the coupling.

Perfect fit for KVM extension
I wasn't sure what the difference was between the Cat5e couplers and this one, but at 25% the cost we decided to go with these. We're using them for KVM over ethernet extensions and they work perfectly! I'd recommend these for any situation where you have short cable runs or aren't pushing high bandwidth through the cables.

Questions & Answers
What is the difference between this item and item#20201. It appears that the modular connector (which connector it accepts) is the same for both.
Both of these items are the same as far as connection however the 20201 is optimized for Network Connections.

Will P/N 01937 - RJ45 Coupler - also work with RJ11 4-pin applications - fax/telephone cords? Please advise. Thanks.
Unfortunately these are not compatible with RJ11 cables

Is this coupler also RJ11 Compatible?
Product 01937 will not properly secure the RJ11 connector as it posses RJ45 ports which are larger than RJ11.
