Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect problem solver I wanted to custom mount a VHF band radio in my dash but problem was the Mic cable connector on the radio would require the mic to connect inside/behind the dash. I needed an extension. Rather than having to buy an expensive custom-made cable, I was able to buy two off the shelf cables and plug them together, problem solved! I plugged one cable into the radio and ran a short lead from that cable out under the dash. With the RJ12 coupler on the exposed end, I simply plug my mic in whenever I need to use the radio - the remainder of the time it stays secure in the glove box, save from would be thieves. And if the coupler breaks or is lost, it's an easy plug n play replacement. I keep a couple extra on hand just in case.
