Does your entertainment system have wooden doors, or would you like to mount your components in a closet? Without a clear line of sight infrared (IR) signals from a remote control will not reach the equipment. We have the answer. Our remote control repeater kit contains all equipment necessary to remotely operate 4 components (expandable to 12 components) using your standard remotes. Mount the IR receiver in a central location and connect to the IR distribution block. This block repeats the signals through emitters to your electronic components. Your components may now be mounted in your entertainment center, closet or another room! The kit is self-contained and easy to connect.

Works as advertised...sort of
I bought this for use in a large storage unit with a loft. I have a second set of speakers up there and wanted a way to control volume from the receiver downstairs (under the loft). Packaging, simplicity and, despite others' comments, to the point instructions, seemed to meet my needs...until I hooked it up the way I intended - power to the switched outlet on my receiver. The box was powered but the repeater appeared not to be accepting a signal - as evidenced by the lack of the blinking blue light. Double checked. and it was hooked up correctly. Figured I would box it up and return but decided to plug in to a wall outlet and it worked as advertised - nothing more, and slightly less.

Just some unpublished info for all; As with most of these type devices, you can parallel connect 2 of the receivers and then control your home stereo/theatre system from two different rooms.

Excellent Choice
This product was perfect for my situation. I hung my 52" LCD on the wall but didn't want any other equipment to show. I hid the Satelite box and Blue-Ray DVD in an adjoining closet behind the wall. I'm sitting about 25 feet from the TV and everything works just perfectly.

OK - here's the deal with this.
It must be DIRECT wired to the Infrared Remote Control Repeater base unit. This wall plate takes the place of the mini IR receiver that is included with the base unit. You will need to run a cable from the back side of this plate to the base unit. An Ethernet cable works fine as the connection instructions call for two twisted pair to be used. Installed as intended, it works flawlessly.

purchased to control my uverse cable box to a flat screen tv on a bedroom wall.
cable box was in closet and wired thru wall to tv. ir receiver was passed thru wall
using a 1/8" stereo plug and then a plug to plug cable to ir box.
found best operation by using the 2 emitters attached to uverse.
Sometimes requires multiple trys to change a channel. Controller to tv
for on off or volume works without a hitch every time. Just ir to uverse
box via repeater is inconsistent

Took persistence to get it to work!
System includes a Sony Blue-ray, Motorola Satellite receiver and a Harmon Kardon AVR210
System worked with the Satellite box immediately, but I could not get the Harmon Kardon receiver to work with the supplied emitter.
I called tech support and they did not have any recommendations.
Based on a tip on a website, I tried plugging directly into the IR in on the HK with a cable I use to plug my iPhone into my car stereo.
Now I have the whole system working!

This was used in a commercial setting for a lunchroom TV. The cable box was hidden above the T-Bar ceiling and only the TV is visiable on the wall. System works perfectly.

I mounted my plasma on the wall in the family room and moved all my A/V equipment into the basement below it. The 40430 extends the remote to the basement with minimal lag time. A/V Receiver, DVD Player and Cable Box (FIOS QIP 6416) all work well. I have the IR receiver under a bookcase so the remote control range is reduced but I am sure this would not be true if the receiver was out in the open.

This should not have a issue with the Cisco DVR. The fequency range that is given covers almost every IR remote frequency.

I have used this product before and it works great. I want to install it again but my components are about 30' away from the TV. The unit comes with a 9' cable, do you guys sell a longer cable or extension or could you recommend a solution? Thank you.
You can extend the length of the receiver by using cat5e and part numbe 37036. This can be extended up to 125ft with cat5e. Documenation on extending the reciever can be found under the USES tab of the product page.

Yes this will work at 50ft. There is not a particular color that you will have to use to connect this device.

Are the components, specifically the AC adapter, UL approved and meet US safety standards for electric devices?
The AC/DC adapter is the only component in this kit that is UL listed. Product 40430 is considered a low voltage device with minimal current draw.

Unfortunately there is not a specifcation for this port. It is best to use a Mono 3.5mm cable. There are some devices that will not work properly when directly connected because these devices are looking for a proprietary receiver.

I installed the IR Remote Control Repeater kit and it works fine. Although there is no blinking blue confirmation LED on either the receiver or the control unit. Is there a way to switch the blue LED on and off?
Unforutnately there is no way to turn off the Blue Light. This is a confirmation light letting the user know that the device is receiving a IR signal.

I have a Marantz receiver that receives at 38.6kHz that I am unable to get to operate with the Model 40430 repeater I ordered. Is there a way to make these units compatible?
Unfortunately, our product has a compatibility problem with the Marantz receivers. We do not have a solution or work around for this issue at this time. You can try connecting it to the IR port on the Marantz with a 3.5mm cable from the Emitter port to the receiver.

We have been unable to determine the infrared frequency your Yamaha receiver's range, however, our 40430 transmits the infrared signal at a frequency of 38 kHz. You will want to confirm with Yamaha if their equipment can receive a signal in that range. The IR signal is transmitted from your remote to our receiver which travels to the receiver box and is relayed to the emitters near your equipment. You would want to place the emitters either on the IR window of your Yamaha receiver or a few inches away (inside of your cabinet) for best results.

Is there a way to split the receiver signal. I need to have receivers for 4 rooms but I only have 5 components total. (4 cable boxes and a bluray/DVD player). Also my receiver runs vary from 30-50'. Is this the right product and if not what would be?

using a Telus optik tv. which I believe is a Cisco CIS 330 or 430. a review on amazon noted it was compatible but I believe this system may be the same as the AT&T u-verse, which has known incompatibility. thanks
Our Repeater Kit transmits at a Infrared frequency range of 38 kHz. I would refer to the specifications of your equipment to see if you can receive signals at that frequency as I was unable to locate any specifications online for the Telus Optik TV.

The failure started when I was moving around the cabinet and the top of the IR Emitter that sticks to the front of the Comcast HD box came off and the end wire became exposed. Please advise if/how I can replace the faulty IR Emitter & get it working again.
You can try to experiment with different placement of the emitter to see if the Comcast HD box will receive the IR signals in a different area. If not you may want to consider replacing the emitter cable. You can consider emitter replacement part 40432 (http://www.cablestogo.com/product/40432).

Will this work with my camcorder Canon Vixia HV40
I was unable to locate what frequency range the Canon Vixia HV40 operates in. Our 40430 Infrared Repeater Kit receives Infrared in a 34 kHz-40kHz frequency range and transmits in a 38 kHz frequency range. Contact Canon to see if their camcorder operates in this range. If so, then it will work with our Infrared Repeater Kit.

If you are extending it via Cat5e, you have a couple of options. You could purchase our 37036 keystone adapter and connect 3 wires, ground, +12V, signal. I want to locate the IR receiver of a C2G 40430 approximately 25 feet from the AV equip. Can I extend the existing cable w/ a standard stereo extension cable? If the answer is, "don't know, have to try it," is there a max distance you think would work?
You can use a regular 3.5mm stereo audio extension cable up to 25ft. Over that length we would recommend using Cat5e wire from the screw down terminal on the distribution block.

This item is not compatible with AT&T Uverse. You would need product 40696 that is our IR repeater that is compatible.

Does this work with an XBOX360? I use my 360 as a Windows MediaCenter and as such I use a Logitech remote that is IR. Would this device work for this setup? Also what is the differences, or why would you by this over item 40696? and vice versa.
If you currently controlling the Xbox via IR on the Logitech remote, the 40430 would work for you. The 40696 cannot be extended for the IR receiver or IR emitters. If your setup is within 20ft from source to display, you could use 40696 without a problem. If you need to extend the run or use more than 4 emitters for your devices, 40430 would be a better option.
