Is this the Intel/DTK (old) standard or the Intel/AT/Everex (new) standard wiring? The Everex is 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3,....
This would be the crossed configuration. It would not match the Everex pinout that you listed. IDC-DB9 1-1, 2-6, 3-2, 4-7, 5-3, 6-8, 7-4, 8-9, 9-5.

This is an add a port adapter as long as the mother board supports the 10pin IDC then this cable will work to add a serial port.

No. You could use a DB9 gender changer to make it a female (02781).
