Exactly what I needed
This product adapts a PC with HDMI video only output to a DVI input only Monitor. Easy to install and adapts quickly. Still need to purchase an HDMI cable separately.

Solid connection on the HDMI side. Minor quibble would be that the screw posts are a little small but that’s not a reason to discount this product.

the specs refer to hdmi to dvi. i want the opposite - dvi to hdmi. can i use this product or is it one way only?
Yes. The adapter is bi-directional. The DVI-D connector could be at the source device or display end.

Need this connection for HDMI wire to add 2nd monitor to my computer. Will this adapter allow me to connect my 2nd hp monitor to 1st hp monitor so I may extend my desktop view?
This adapter will allow you to adapt a HDMI to a DVI connection. All of your equipment would perform other tasks. This is just providing the pin conversion as this is a passive adapter.

This is single link. HDMI only has 19 pins so you would only need 19 pins on the DVI side which would be single link DVI.

Yes however, due to the DVI connection it will not support audio.
