Overview
Does your entertainment system have wooden doors, or would you like to mount your components in a closet? Without a clear line of sight infrared (IR) signals from a remote control will not reach the equipment. We have the answer. Our remote control repeater kit contains all equipment necessary to remotely operate 4 components (expandable to 12 components) using your standard remotes. Mount the IR receiver in a central location and connect to the IR distribution block. This block repeats the signals through emitters to your electronic components. Your components may now be mounted in your entertainment center, closet or another room! The kit is self-contained and easy to connect.
With this kit, you may mount a receiver in a convenient place on or near your entertainment system. The receiver has a 9 foot cable that is then attached to the repeater system that is mounted in your entertainment cabinet. The kit includes 4 emitters. These emitters are connected from the repeater system and placed over the IR receiver of the equipment.
The IR receiver and IR repeater have blinking blue LEDs to confirm receipt of the IR signal; the IR repeater is designed for mounting on shelf or wall. You can use your existing remotes for simple installation and hookups. Packaged for resale.
For your convenience, the AC/DC Adapter (#98025) is available for this item. To order this replacement part, please call us at 1-800-506-9607.
Please Note: Careful consideration must be used when placing the IR receiver near a plasma display. Since a plasma display emits IR frequencies during use, it may cause interference. At this time, the AT<(><<)>(><(>&<)><(><<)>)>T U-Verse cable boxes are not compatible with the C2G, formerly Cables To Go, IR Receiver Kit. The product team at C2G is working hard to find a solution for this issue and will update you as soon as possible. Replacement components may be ordered online: 10ft Infrared Receiver with 3.5mm Plug (#98045), 10ft Single Infrared Emitter Cable (#40432) and 10ft Dual Infrared Emitter Cable (#40433).

When I had gotten the product I was excited about using this IR extender. I was disappointed that I had to modify the IR Receiver Cable in order to extend the cable at a distance of approximately 90', which I was hoping for pheniox connector. But because I'm very fimilar with controls and solder technics I had no problems. Although, I'm not all that fimilar with IR Extenders, I was rather disappointed at the manual and how it had a lack of informtion. This product works great for short distances to a simple plug n play.

I have a TV in my room and got this to install the cable box and DVD in the closet behind the TV. So far I have position the receiver in every possible position and the darn thing works intermittently. Tried also removing the glue from the sensor on the cable box, and still no luck.
So, called tech support and they only work the hours that I am at work.... great help that is......
No way would I recommend this at this time.

Comments about Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:
This product was perfect for my situation. I hung my 52" LCD on the wall but didn't want any other equipment to show. I hid the Satelite box and Blue-Ray DVD in an adjoining closet behind the wall. I'm sitting about 25 feet from the TV and everything works just perfectly.

Comments about Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:
When planning for finishing my basement, I went for a minimal look for my theater room - I did not want any components other than the projector in the room. I built a narrow hallway on the other side of the front (screen) wall with shelves that hold my components.
I bought this to control theater room components (receiver and BluRay player) that are not in the viewing room. I am using this base unit in conjunction with TruLink® Infrared Wall Plate Receiver.
This item works perfectly as installed for its intended purpose. Be sure and read the about the operation/installation before you order - don't just order assuming it will work for your application.
There is a small IR receiver that your existing remotes shoot their signal to. This IR receiver is connected to the base unit by a long thin cable. The TruLink wall plate (additional purchase) can take the place of the included IR receiver for a more finished look but the back of the wall plate component must be wired to the receiver using an Ethernet or phone cable.
The base unit is meant to be in the same room/cabinet as your components. Coming from the base unit are 4 IR emitters (for 4 components) that work best if attached directly in front of the IR receiver on your components. The emiters come with a double-backed adhesive. Alternatively, if your component allows, the attachment can be done by male-to-male 3.5mm cable.
Like I said - works perfectly in the situation that it is meant.

Comments about TruLink® Infrared (IR) Remote Control Dual Band Wall Plate Receiver:
It must be DIRECT wired to the Infrared Remote Control Repeater base unit. This wall plate takes the place of the mini IR receiver that is included with the base unit. You will need to run a cable from the back side of this plate to the base unit. An Ethernet cable works fine as the connection instructions call for two twisted pair to be used. Installed as intended, it works flawlessly.

Comments about Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:
purchased to control my uverse cable box to a flat screen tv on a bedroom wall.
cable box was in closet and wired thru wall to tv. ir receiver was passed thru wall
using a 1/8" stereo plug and then a plug to plug cable to ir box.
found best operation by using the 2 emitters attached to uverse.
Sometimes requires multiple trys to change a channel. Controller to tv
for on off or volume works without a hitch every time. Just ir to uverse
box via repeater is inconsistent

- Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit
Q:
Does this work with an XBOX360? I use my 360 as a Windows MediaCenter and as such I use a Logitech remote that is IR. Would this device work for this setup?
Also what is the differences, or why would you by this over item 40696? and vice versa.Asked on 11/26/2012 by Dustin from Seattle, WA1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If you currently controlling the Xbox via IR on the Logitech remote, the 40430 would work for you. The 40696 cannot be extended for the IR receiver or IR emitters. If your setup is within 20ft from source to display, you could use 40696 without a problem. If you need to extend the run or use more than 4 emitters for your devices, 40430 would be a better option.Answered on 11/30/2012 by Steve from C2G

Q:
Will this item work with the Remote Control Repeater Kit (Product #: 40430)?
If yes, how can I hook it up?Asked on 11/18/2012 by Ahg1 answer

A:
Yes, it will work with 40430. You would use a cable with at least 4 conductors like a Cat5e or Cat6 cable and connect the screw down terminal block on the distribution hub from 40430 to the connection block on the back of the wall plate. Both will have terminals for +12V, GND, Signal, Status.Answered on 11/19/2012 by Steve from C2G
