Overview

The Trulink® USB to HDMI® and VGA Adapter is a flexible solution for connecting laptops or desktops to monitors and/or displays using both analog (VGA) and digital (HDMI) signals. Connect both HDMI and VGA to view the same content across two displays using the included USB cable, while enjoying stereo audio through the HDMI and/or 3.5mm audio connection. The adapter supports primary, extended, mirror and rotated displays modes and allows for the addition of up to 6 displays with minimal configuration and without any additional graphics cards. Not only is the adapter simple to use and cost-effective, it's also bus-powered so an external power cord is not required. Its compact size also makes it portable so you can use it anywhere.

Comments about TruLink® USB 2.0 to HDMI® and VGA with Audio:

I have a laptop with no real outputs except VGA and USB - wanted to have my laptop hooked to an external display and at the same time run movies, video, presentations out to my HDTV. This worked perfectly - plugged right into the USB port and ran a HDMI cable to the TV. Runs both video and audio out. Simple easy solution.

      Q:

I have an IBM thinkpad with a S-Vid I have been using for an analog signal and want a digital one. Can you plug this into a 2.0 USB on laptop and connect to HDMI connection on 50in plasma TV and get a digital pic that is better than my analog S-Vid. I know I won't get any sound from the HDMI in digital, will I? and still have to use the heaphone jack which I use now for 2 ch sound. Will there be noticeable difference from usb instead of S-Vid to HDMI? $120 dollars worth of improvement? Please advise. thx,Richard Altman

No!! Your IBM thinkpad will not produce a higher resolution than the one you are getting w/S-video.

        A:

The picture should look much better and allow for higher resolutions to be supported through the USB to HDMI adapter. It will support both video and sound. USB to HDMI would be better than an upscaled S-video to HDMI conversion. If you just want to use the HDMI output, you could use 30547.

      Q:

I have a HP PC without a HDMI output port. I want to be able to stream SKYPE audio and video from PC to TV. I can do this with my laptop via HDMI cable from laptop output pot direct to TV. Will this unit support this transfer without buffering problems?

        A:

If the PC has a VGA output, I would recommend using a VGA to HDMI converter (40010) in order to stream the Skype video. This product would be able to stream the Skype video better than the USB to HDMI/VGA adapter.
