The Y/C signal separation circuitry provides a bright, crisp picture from a DVD player, VCD player, laser disc, VCR, camcorder, cable/DSS receiver or multimedia PC to an a/v receiver, TV or monitor. Gold terminals ensure long-lasting, corrosion-free connections. Passive construction; no power adapters are required.

I have an older projector which had only composite video and s-video inputs, but I wanted to connect two devices to it, neither of which had s-video output. This compact device converts composite video to s-video with no visible loss in quality. I even switched (the same signal source) back and forth between the straight composite and converted-to-s-video inputs and I could see no difference in the quality. I am very happy with it.
