Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extends USB distance limit I have two USB-connected printers that are too far from the hub to work properly. These cables perfectly address that problem. If you have that situation, I highly recommend this solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent cable. I purchased this one to replace one I have used for several years. The old one has been walked on, sucked up in the vacuum, and tied in knots, but has always worked perfectly. It took sharp puppy teeth to finally do it in. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised I am using this to run a Logitech c910 HS Web Cam. I needed a longer cable to mount this above the projection screen and still hide the wires in the attic/wall. It has no issues with the camera, I can still broadcast in 720p and record in 1080p over 12 meters of USB. I'm just curious now what is different about this technology.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Choice Product is being used to extend the length of the USB cable supplied with a SmartBoard. It must be an active connection in order to extend the length. Cable works as expected and comes with a lifetime warranty. I had to use the warranty on one cable and the company stood behind the warranty. No complaints so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Active USB Extension Cable My company uses webcams (the webcams only have about 3' of cable attached) as cameras because they do not require battery replacement, to photograph items we removed from a house or business after a disaster such as a fire or water damage. The photos are attached to a database line item and stored together in the database for later recall if need to review condition at time received. Additionally, we use the USB extension cable with scanners to scan the same above items into a database. Without "Active" extension cables distances of over about 3' from the laptop would not be possible. Without the Active USB cables, the webcams would lockup the database. Using a standard extension cable does the same. These Active cables work great and all the delay and lockups went away when I started to use them. These cables boost the signal making data transfers sure. The cables really go through a lot of abuses before they have to be replaced, but I replace them with the same item. I tried other Active USB cables and they just did not do the job, I still had database lockups using them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great - great length We use these cables as 12m extensions for webcams on an outdoor test setup. The cables have been used off and on for the past month and have given no problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The cables work for our 32' web cam needs. Purchased 6 of these to extend the reach of our web cams (500mA) to 32 feet and they work just like they when plugged in directly. Tested them with 4 daisy chained together and the web cams still worked great. Adding another for a total of 5 did not function well. We only need 2 for a total of 32 feet but tested to see how many would work just in case we wanted to extend the web cams further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome USB cable extender We had reception problems with our wifi modem inside our warehouse. Then we tied the modem to an 18 ft pole and ran this USB cable extender to our pc and our problems are gone! Of course, we bring it all down at the end of the day, but so far has withstood harsh winds, cold temps in the low 40s and rain/light snow flurries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome! I just used two of these cables together with a 16ft camera tethering cable and had no problems at all! That's 48 FEET OF CABLE!!! I wasn't shooting quickly but, it worked perfectly. I would have given them a higher score if I had connected 5 of these together like the product says you can but I didn't need that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as advertised This is a great alternative to a series of hubs and shorter cables. We use it to put a web cam a long way from the computer. I might need another one because we need to get further away still, but daisy chaining these is supposed to work, so it is about as low-maintenance as I could hope for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent cable for the price The cables are used to connect several scanners and other input equipment to a centralized PC. The cables work well in our environment, I just wish the connections could be a little more robust. After connecting a few times, they seem to become flimsy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps Not Exciting But It WORKS! I recently needed a USB extension cable in order to connect a device I use for flight simulator - connected to my computer directly. This cable filled the bill to PERFECTION. Worked first time. There was no signal drop. Try it, you'll like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Web Cam extending I used this product in my home and business to extend my webcams from my PC. I connected 2 together inbetween cam and my PC with no visual loss of quality. Worked perfect even after the cam manufacturer told me it couldn't be done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what I wanted it to do!! I purchased this cable to transfer video of our Church services from a digital video camera to our computer over a greater distance without having to move the camera and tri-pod closer to the computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solves Distance Problems This cable is impossible to find at the usual retailers. We have large plotters and scanners connected to a single computer. The extension cord solved space problems in our engineering office.

Questions & Answers

I want to connect to and provide power for a camera with this cable. Does it transmit power?

Asked by: David
Yes it does transmit power. That adapter will consume 100mA of power to boost the signal. So it will potentially have 400mA of power left over to power a device.

I believe my computer is asking for a driver to use this cable because of the booster. Is this correct? Windows isn't finding the driver automatically. I found USB cable drivers on your site but can't identify correct one if needed. Thanks

Asked by: Ted
This is a plug and play device. It uses the USB generic hub that is built into the Windows OS. I would recommend trying a different USB or possibly a different computer to see if the USB extender is functioning correctly.

Is this cable compatible with Windows 10? We recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Since then our printer, which is connected to existing USB repeater cables, does not work. I suspect the cables are not being recognized by the operating system.

Asked by: Len
Yes this will work with Windows 10
