Product Description

The HDMI over Cat6 allows HDMI audio/video signals to be extended over a single Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6a unshielded twisted pair cable up to 230ft at a 4K resolution. This solution is compatible with any operating system and is truly plug and play with no drivers or software required. The transmitter and receiver are available in either a wall plate or box form factor and are interoperable allowing this solution to meet the needs of the installation environment. In addition, this solution utilizes TruChoice™ power, which allows power to be supplied over the Cat5 cable to both the transmitter and receiver from a single power adapter placed at either the transmitter or the receiver end of the solution. HDBaseT technology supports HDCP and allows the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) signals, i.e. communication of the display‚Äôs capabilities, to pass through the extension solution ensuring that the content from the source is sent at the optimal resolution for the display. Built-in power surge protection and high ground loop immunity ensure high performance signal extension.

Note: Stranded Cat5e/6/6a cables may be used for HDMI extension applications up to 250ft. Shielded, solid conductor Cat5e/6/6a cabling is recommended for applications where the Cat5e/6 cable must be coiled, is run near other high-frequency signaling cables or in high EMI/RFI environments. For best performance use a Cat6 Solid Shielded Patch Cable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HDMI to 286 feet over Cat 6 The Electrician installed the Transmitter & Receiver using Cat 6 cable as he likes using Cat 6 cable. The cable went under ground in a conduit from the HDMI player through C2G Transmitter, to the C2G Receiver, then from the receiver HDMI, to the HDMI input on a 65 inch HDMI TV. The system was turned on and the quality was as if the player was connected directly with a 3 ft HDMI cable to the TV. The setup was truly plug & play. I was reluctant to purchase the C2G kit as I was afraid it would not work. Now I will buy more units as I have friends with similar needs. I am impressed how well it works and how small the C2G unit is. If you have a similar problem, this is the answer.

Is the power supply required for this product? I need an HDMI over CAT5 solution that will mount inside a single-gang box but does not require a power supply. Do you have something like this available? Thanks.

Asked by: Nate
This product requires a power supply at the transmitter or receiver end. We do not carry a product that will not need to be powered to send HDMI over Cat5.

Do you need to run 1 cat5/6 as well as a 16/2 for power?

Asked by: Anonymous
You would need the 1 Cat5e/6 cable. If you are powering the transmitter, you would need a separate 16/2 for power. The other option would be powering the receiver side. If the receiver is a box unit, you would not need to run a 16/2 cable because you could just plug in the power adapter into the box.
