Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what we needed I ordered the wrong adapter the first time, and they made the process of getting the correct piece extremely easy. This is our go to site for cables, etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DVI to VGA If you have a TV with DVI and trying to convert to VGA stop and look at the female on your TV. If you don't have 4 pins surrounding your large tab this adapter will not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. This adapter made a nice connection between the old CRT HD15 and the newer DVI connector.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not Convert DVI to VGA The application was to be able to use one of the dual DVI outputs from a new computer to supply video output to a projector which only accepts VGA or RCA input. It does not work. There must be a signal converter used to change it from Digital to Analog. This information needs to be included with the product information. So that shoppers do not assume it will work without the converter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DVI-A to HD15 Female We recently upgraded all the workstations to new i7 based desktops that support dual monitors running Windows 7. We reused the original analog flat screens along with new DVI based wide screens. the adapters let us connect the old analog monitors to the Y cable supplied with the desktops to create a dual screen environment.

You can use a DVI-I to VGA cable in this application. Consider our part 27590 as an option.

I need to connect the VGA output of a laptop using a VGA cable to the DVI-I input of a projector. Will this adapter convert VGA to DVI-I? I know this question has ready been asked, but I just want to confirm because I see other DVI male to VGA female adapters and they say it can only be used in the DVI to VGA direction. How is this able to do VGA to DVI direction?

This will work for that application as long as the port on the projector is DVI-I and the projector accepts analog signal type.

I am going from a vga port on my laptop to a dvi on a projector that is hanging from the ceiling. I have a vga cable already there and want to know if this adaptor will work.

Asked by: graybeard
That adapter would work if the input on the projector is DVI-I. Please verify with the projector manufacturer that the DVI port is DVI-I not DVI-D. The DVI-I port is indicated by the cross and then 4 pins around that cross. DVI-D usually has a single flat horizontal blade (slot) to the side.

You would need an active converter to make that connection. Please see our product 40724.
