Delcom Group Bolsters AV Leadership Position with Staff CTS Training

C2G, a brand of Legrand, provides world-class instruction as part of partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEWISVILLE, TEXAS — JANUARY 18, 2017Delcom Group (Delcom) today announced a substantial investment in maintaining its industry leadership position within its market for Audio Visual consulting and integration: the participation of more than one-half of its entire workforce in a training course designed to lead qualified candidates toward obtaining the challenging InfoComm CTS® certification.

Delcom is a leading AV integrator in K12 and Higher Education, providing the technology and services that improve the way students and educators collaborate. Delcom has been supporting education technology in Texas and Oklahoma for more than 17 years.

C2G, a brand of Legrand, conducted the InfoComm CTS prep course for the Delcom team on January 11-13. Such instruction is part of Legrand's commitment to helping integrators and other clients successfully navigate the rapidly changing technology landscape. The prep course was led by Joseph Cornwall, Legrand's Technology Evangelist, who holds InfoComm CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I certifications. Mr. Cornwall was also honored as the 2014 InfoComm Educator of the Year.

For more than 30 years, InfoComm has administered the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS®) program, which is recognized worldwide as the leading AV professional credential.

InfoComm CTS Certification is ANSI accredited under the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). According to InfoComm, a CTS performs general technology solution tasks by creating, operating, and servicing AV solutions as well as conducting AV management activities that provide for the best audiovisual resolutions of the client's needs, both on time and within budget.

Meeting the requirements for InfoComm's CTS certification is a key credential for integrators like Delcom, which differentiates itself from competitors by ensuring that each of its customer-facing professionals can provide the highest level of service to clients. Among end-users and throughout the industry, professionals with CTS certification are viewed as reliable sources for providing solid, actionable, and useful advice that is based on best engineering principles and current scientific understanding. Providing CTS education to its installers, engineers, sales, training, marketing, and executive team members is indicative of Delcom's investment toward maintaining a solid team built with industry expertise and experience.

"As the leading provider of AV integration services to the K12 market in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, Delcom is committed to expanding our already strong market share to further support our clients' ultimate goal of increasing student achievement, using the latest products in collaborative learning," said Sean Delph, director of sales for Delcom. "Adhering to InfoComm's CTS standards helps advance that goal, and is critical to our plans for continued growth in the AV integration industry."

Out of Delcom's total of 50 employees, 23 attended the 3-day InfoComm CTS® training course.

"Delcom's distinct employee participation reflects the entire company's commitment in both ensuring we are current on the new advances and changes within the AV industry and in further building our entire team's AV integration knowledge and expertise," said Delph. "By investing in this education for every department – from our Account Sales Representatives and Design Engineers to our Project Managers and Audio Visual Installation Technicians – we at Delcom are making certain that we will continue to provide our customers with an AV integration team that is comprised of leading experts within this growing industry"

"Delcom's broad participation reflects the company's significant investment in the AV industry, and its commitment to InfoComm's vision of ensuring world-class knowledge at every industry touchpoint," said Cornwall. "AV is the last 100 meters between the network drop and the human imagination — it's a core component of cultural and business communication – and CTS certification is a huge advantage to any company competing in this dynamic space. Delcom truly represents the new generation of technology integrator."

"We're very lucky to have a partner like C2G, a brand of Legrand, which is redefining how AV fits into the information and communications technology industry and is willing to support its clients with leading expertise and instruction," said Doug Busey, director of AV services at Delcom. "This CTS prep class is just another example of the value Legrand delivers to all its partners."
