Educational Opportunities at InfoComm to Prepare for the Transition from Analog to Digital Connectivity

Joe Cornwall, CTS-D, ISF-C, and Technology Evangelist at C2G, will conduct two sessions during InfoComm focusing on digital video technologies and preparing for the future.

Digital Video at Length scheduled on June 12th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm—discusses the importance of dependable digital video connectivity. It is growing exponentially as consumer and commercial transition minimized differential signaling (TMDS)-enabled devices change the nature of installed A/V. With the analog infrastructure evolving, being able to deploy point-to-point connectivity solutions that support TMDS content—like HDMI—at critical middle distances can be challenging. Participants in this session will explore technology deployed in HDBaseT and ultra wideband wired and wireless A/V connectivity solutions. The course will focus on operational theory, comparative performance metrics and practical application of the technology to common A/V installations.

Perspectives on Digital Video Connectivity—From SDI to Thunderbolt and Everything Between scheduled on June 12th from 2:30 pm - 4:30pm will discuss in detail the analog transition to digital. Globally, AV integrators, designers, and end users must adapt to the demands of a high-bandwidth digital video ecosystem while managing new and unexpected challenges. This session will provide a complete understanding of the relationship of various video interfaces used in IT, broadcast, commercial, and consumer environments.
