Q:I know you have stated in two previous questions that this is a passive cable, however, based on the cost and pictures it seems like this should be an active adapter cable. The DVI head seems larger than normal, thus accounting for the power conversion board. This cable would be a much better solution to my hardware needs than a converter and cable so I would like to order if it really is active adapter.
A:This is a Passive adapter.
Q:Are your DP to DVI-D adapter cables "active" or "passive" devices?
A:These are all Passive devices.
Q:Many DisplayPort to DVI cables and adapters are really DP++ to DVI passive adapters. Is this an active cable, i.e. does it have an integrated converter chip? In other words, does it require a Dual-mode DisplayPort source rather than a pure DisplayPort source?
A:This device is a passive adapter.
