The Trulink USB 2.0 Superbooster was designed for systems integrators, installers and other end users seeking an innovatively simple yet powerful solution for extending USB signals beyond their native 16.4ft length limitation. Specifically for use in commercial environments, the Trulink USB 2.0 Superbooster is the only USB 2.0 solution on the market that is available in both a dongle and wall plate version. The wall plate and dongle can be interchanged to fit the needs of any installation requiring high performance and maximum flexibility.
Using true USB 2.0 speed and power, this solution provides increased bandwidth and faster data transfer speeds over standard Cat5/6 cabling at lengths up to 328ft. Integrated UTP power inserter technology provides 500 milliamps of power when the power adapter is connected through the transmitter end or receiver end, depending on the desired configuration. This provides enough power to operate most new USB devices and allows for flexibility in equipment placement.
The single gang decora style wall plates provide the clean look of a professional installation. The small form factor of both the dongle and wall plate versions allows for easy installation in tight spaces. The dongle end is uniquely designed to allow it to be securely tethered to other equipment. Installation is quick and easy with no software or driver installation required.
This solution utilizes TruChoice™ power providing the flexibility to power at either the transmitter or receiver end.
Note: The screw terminals used to power the wall plate are non-polarized. Either port may be used for the positive or negative connection to power.

Q:Can this be run though a POE switch, one side on one switch port and the other plate on another? If so, will it still need the power injector or is the consumption low enough to be powered off a POE switch?
A:This device has to be directly connected to one another and can not be ran through a network or through a POE line.
Q:I am installing a Cables To Go 53877 Trulink USB 2.0 Over Cat5 Superbooster Wall Plate Kit in 2 conference rooms for use with a video teleconference system. There are no instructions in the box or online concerning attaching the power supply to to the wall unit. You have the small green plug that goes into the wall unit then you have to run wire to the power supply. Since this is DC, then knowing the polarity is esstential. There are no markings on any of the parts to indicate that. Help!
A:This device will create the polarity that is why it is not marked.
Q:Is this device compatible with usb hubs? I.e. could a USB hub be used at the "device" end that is then linked back to a computer?
A:Yes. This is compatible with USB 2.0 hubs.
Q:Can this be used without external power - i.e. just to extend the range of data transfer. The descriptive pics of many of the scenarios seem to suggest power is not required for some uses. Can you please explain? thanks
A:The USB 2.0 Superbooster requires the AC power adapter on the source or receiver in order to function correctly. It cannot be powered through the USB bus.
Q:Is this unit firmware upgradable? We are troubleshooting a connection issue which is likely another component (3rd party USB router) but wanted to firmware service all the components in the chain.
A:You are not able to update the firmware on the USB 2.0 superboosters.
Q:Do this require the power adapter or can this be bus-powered just like the usb 1.1 version? (part number 29342)I only need it to extend usb to 25 feet and don't like the idea of visible power supplies for conference room installs.
A:The USB 2.0 Superbooster requires the AC power adapter on the source or receiver. It cannot be powered through the USB bus.
Q:will this work with the XBOX kinect
A:Yes, this product will work with the Xbox Kinect.
Q:Will this power a usb monitor? i.e. a monitor that is powered only from a usb port?
A:If that monitor can receive power through the USB port, the 53877 can supply power to that monitor. Please note 53877 does require a power supply connected on either the transmitter or receiver side in order to function correctly.
