Overview
Our multi-function converter is an ideal solution for any crowded dorm room, small apartment, or home office! It turns a PC monitor into a dual-purpose screen for both computer and TV video, and thus eliminates the need to have multiple monitors in one room. Display home theater sources, gaming systems and camcorders on your flat panel.
The converter accepts component or composite video signals and converts them to VGA for easy connection of video devices, including DVD players, camcorders, VCRs, and even cable television, directly to a plasma or LCD flat panel monitor for viewing. The Picture-In-Picture (PIP) feature allows content to be watched in a separate window on the monitor while the user surfs the internet, pays bills or does schoolwork.
The pass-through function allows VGA video to be sent directly to the monitor from a computer when the converter is powered down. MTS stereo output via a 3.5mm stereo jack is compatible with Dolby® Pro-Logic™ for a complete theater experience. Plug-and-play installation; no software required.
For your convenience, the AC/DC Adapter (#98046), the Remote Control (#98043) and the VGA Cable (#98044) are available for this item. To order replacement parts, please call us at 1-800-506-9607.

Comments about Multi-Function Converter with CATV Tuner and Picture-in-Picture:
I was exited to receive this unit, the Multi-Function Converter eventhough I knew that its claims were too good to
be true. After setting it up the disappointments started to set in. Why? Well, this unit is basically a gadget that
is a work in progress, it is not complete in its functions. The picture is fair as VGA connections go but read the
following.
First, the remote key for "Menu" does not work. So, you can not set the different resolutions, brightness, contrast,
color, sharpness, etc. Other keys such as FCSCAN (Fast Channel Scan), MTS, CH VIEW (Channel View) Simply don't
function on the remote. Also, be prepaired to see a worse image of your Windows desktop once you are in the PIP
window.
Second, your unit will be delivered with a part missing. That will be the "IR Extender cable." So, what you will
end up with is the ability to watch one channel from your cable box when you set this gadget to channel 3.
Third, the user guide that it came with looks very slick, but it is not very clear. It does not talk at all about
the function of the "IR Extender" and it is very general about this gadget settings.
For just a few dollars more, you will be able to do a lot more with a tuner card from makers such as Hauppauge or
Blackmagicdesign. You will be able to change channel, to watch in a small screen,to do work with your computer, etc.
The bottom line is that it is not worth it investing in this gadget.
I am sending it back.

Comments about Multi-Function Converter with CATV Tuner and Picture-in-Picture:
I needed to show cable TV, PC display, and DVD output on one LCD projector and patch the sound through my reciever. Once it arrived I had it all wired and functioning within minutes. The manual is simple and the connections and controls were rather intuitive. I like the ease of functionality. My son had his Playstation attached and operating on his own in just a couple of minutes.
Good price and it does what the liturature says it should.
