Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Usual Superb Product and Service I used this cable to extend the USB functionality between a touch screen monitor and a powered USB hub. I needed to run the cable from the monitor (hanging from the ceiling) to an adjacent wall, down the wall, across the floor, and finally to the powered USB hub. This cable run allows an uncluttered installation of the monitor AND reliable performance of the USB connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with Wi-Fi adapter Since I can only pick up my community's wi-fi signal on one side of my condo unit near a window, I position my wi-fi adapter near the window, and use this cable to connect the adapter to my desktop computer which is about 40 feet away. There doesn't appear to be any degradation of the data transmission rate over that distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Active USB Cable Connected the USB cable between my computer and the cable for my camera and the extended connection worked perfectly. Connection was about 19 feet and it worked as well as with just the camera cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Active Extension Cable Works I bought the extension cable to connect a Canon MF6550 Multifunction because I needed a cable longer than the standard USB 2.0 5 Meter maximum. The Canon driver would not install until I worked with Canon Tech Support who suggested using a 6 foot USB cable to connect the system to the Multifunction. Once the driver was installed I connected the system to the Multifunction using a combination of the extension cable and a standard 1M USB 2.0 printer cable. This cable combination has been and is being used successfully with text recognition, scanning and printing applications.

Can I use this to connect an external HD with a Blu-ray player to stream movies from my drive? If my external drive has additional USB ports on it, could I use a M2M USB cord to connect to this so I don't even have to unplug the HD from my CPU?

Asked by: Pariah
Our product allows USB 2.0 standard data transmissions. If your devices allow this type of transmission for video playback then the cable should work for you.

Will this Active extension cable send "touch" functionality from a PC to a IFP at 39'? I normally use a 16' usb A to B from IFP to PC to give IFP touch functionality.

Asked by: jason the USB
This will work the same way as the other actives and will send 2.0 signal the full length of the cable.

I want to connect to and provide power for a camera with this cable. Does it transmit power?

Asked by: David
Yes it does transmit power. That adapter will consume 100mA of power to boost the signal. So it will potentially have 400mA of power left over to power a device.

I believe my computer is asking for a driver to use this cable because of the booster. Is this correct? Windows isn't finding the driver automatically. I found USB cable drivers on your site but can't identify correct one if needed. Thanks

Asked by: Ted
This is a plug and play device. It uses the USB generic hub that is built into the Windows OS. I would recommend trying a different USB or possibly a different computer to see if the USB extender is functioning correctly.

Is this cable compatible with Windows 10? We recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Since then our printer, which is connected to existing USB repeater cables, does not work. I suspect the cables are not being recognized by the operating system.

Yes this will work with Windows 10
