Product Description

The TruLink® 4-Port VGA/USB 2.0 KVM offers a quick and easy way to eliminate clutter from your desktop. This switch allows you to control four computers with just one keyboard, mouse, and VGA monitor. Connect the switch to your computers via USB and VGA using the included cables.

The two downstream USB 2.0 ports can be used to share USB peripherals. Two types of switching (push button <(>&<)> hot keys) enable you to operate the switch in the most effective way for your application.

Note: The USB port labeled as a keyboard port is designed for use with a standard keyboard which does not feature special functions, such as volume controls, media buttons etc. Using a keyboard which features special functions may cause errors in the functionality of the KVM; however, we have tested and verified that the keyboards in this compatibility list will function with the KVM and will not cause functionality errors.

      Comments about TruLink® 4-Port VGA/USB 2.0 KVM Switch:

This switch is great if you hook up a lot of PCs and you never know what interface they will be using. Most of the time you can get away with a simple DVI>VGA adapter for newer computers, if that fails there are adapters for HDMI>VGA and Displayport>VGA for fairly cheap. If you buy a DVI or HDMI switch, you'll have to use an adapter for older computers and you'll pay more for the switch. I have a gaming mouse/KB, so I use the hub instead of the emulated ports so that my KB/mouse software will work. It doesn't switch quite as fast as it would with the emulated ports, but it still works well. USB 2.0 or better is a must for gaming mice/KBs, and is the minimum for hooking up to a USB 3.0 port.

The hotkeys would be Scroll Lock twice and then 1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on which port that you are switching to.

That unit does not have on-screen display. It only uses hotkeys and the push buttons on the front of the KVM.
