I was psyched when I got a new LCD monitor (Acer X223) to connect to my laptop. However, after setting it up I noticed that when I moved the mouse around, the screen would flicker. I was immediately worried that I had a bum monitor. I started doing research online to see if others people had a similar problem. Many of the posts suggested that my VGA cable was not properly shielded. The VGA cable I had was very low end indeed.
I selected this VGA cable from Cables To Go because it offered the most shielding and was better equipped to transmit the resolution of my laptop (1680x1050). Sure enough, it solved the problem! No more flickering. And I can say for sure that the image looks better. Two thumbs up! Everyone who connects an external monitor to their laptop over VGA should use this cord!

Here is my story,
I bought one of these cables and, within a week, one of the pins pulled out on the plug. Fortunately, cables To Go did send me a replacement with no strings attached. Unfortunately, the same pin pulled out in a week on that cord as well. I'm starting to think there might be something wrong with my PC out jack, but i still think this cable should not have broken as easily as it did. Cables To Go might want to think of find a cable with stronger pins that don't pull out so easily.

Comments about 25ft Pro Series HD15 UXGA M/M Monitor Cable:
This cable made connecting my laptop to my big-screen TV as easy as just plugging it in. With a TV and computer that both had the common 15-pin connections, it couldn't be easier. Makes it a snap to show everyone what's on your screen without having them bending over your shoulder.

I wanted to have my security camera system in the basement with the monitor mounted in the great room. I needed 40 ft. of cable but the 50 ft. works fine. The picture is outstanding.

Q:
I want to use this cable with a laptop and a projector. Will the missing pin 9 create any problems? The laptop is about 2-3 years old and is a Dell.
