Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless and time-consuming Wow... that's all I can say. These things are completely useless. I'm a professional I.T. guy. I've been making CAT5 Cables for years and can blast them out in minutes so I'm no amateur. These connectors take no less than 10-15 minutes to assemble... per end. But to give it a fair shake, I brought the connectors back to my office and had 3 other techs attempt to assemble cables with these. All 3 Techs are faster than I and all three said, "What the "expletive deleted?". I bought these for a job with tight margins and thought I'd save a buck but that's not an error I'll make again. Save yourself the headache and get the more expensive single unit without inserts. These are the worst I've ever seen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good engineering; needs instructions Excellent product, but electronic tools are required for proper implementation. I use Xcelites and Crescent miniatures, mostly with spring loading. The load block is too small for hand manipulation-any sized hand, and other tasks such as untwisting, straightening and aligning wires are only reasonably done with these tools. This modular plug hangs up in my Ideal ratcheting crimper, requiring disloding the crimped plug by a gentle push from the plug side. Don't try to drag it out by the cable end. Make sure you color print the instructions, available online. If you do all of this, you will not go back to ordinary RJ45's.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installation Tip This is the easiest way I have found to use these plugs with the little power bar. * Untwist all pairs to the required length, then cut straight. * Bend up every other strand, and then slid the other strands through the full holes. * Bend down the 4 other strands through the half holes. * Cut excess off the end. * Push the bar almost off the end, then feed it into the plug. * Crimp and repeat for other end. Hope this helps anyone TRYING to use these plugs

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for novice Not for rookies, I read the reviews and tried them anyway. Granted, I'm not an IT person, but I can follow instructions. Never mind, these have none.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simply great - once you figure them out I've been using these things for several years now. I won't buy anything else - these are so easy. I've used them on CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT5e plenum. Admittedly you have to take a couple more steps to use these correctly, but it doesn't take any more time. Using the load bar helps ensure everything is separate, prevents the wires from being untwisted too far which effects performance, and keeps everything nice and tight. Here is how I build CAT6 with these - Use crimp tool or wire strippers to expose about 1 inch of stranded cable. Bend the 4 pair away from center and down the side of the cable. Use wire cutters or snippers to cut the spline off as low as possible. Untwist all of the cable and arrange them according to your specifications. Fold one cable down, then the next one up, etc. Now take the four bent 'down' and slide them into the holes in the load bar. Next, take the for that were bent 'up' and pop them into the associated slots on the load bar. Slide the load bar down the cable as far as you can, trim the excess strands and carefully slide the load bar up to the cut end of the cable (but don't take it off!). Now the strands will be perfectly aligned - all you have to do is slide it in and crimp. I can build a CAT6 cable, both sides in about 2 minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Load bar is pretty slick The load bar helps a lot! I noticed all the solid wires go in the bottom row and the stripes in the top.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It doesn't get any worse I never write reviews...ever! This is such a bad product I had to leave something. After trying for over an hour I still don't have a single cable made. Even my first cat5 cable a few years ago worked on the first try. The load bar is terrible and makes it more difficult to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I agree Needs more information on how to use the product. Maybe better tips or tutorial. I'm using stranded cat6; therefore, more difficult to install. Would only recommend to experience data cable installer.

The video link is to a different connector. These are two part and there is no indication as to who to orient the smaller piece. Please provide an instruction sheet from manufacturer.
