I purchased this to allow connection of a RS232 device to a USB port on my computer. The software did not work and the connection did not link. I am not sure if there is a hardware issue as well as this type of device usually has an onboard chip for configuration. Regardless, the cable combo did not work.

Cons

Best Uses

Comments about 6ft USB Serial DB25 Adapter Cable:
Needed this adapter cable to connect my Laptop running W8 to a Kantronics KPC-3 Plus TNC. Since the adapter cable D25 Connector comes with lugs, had to remove the lugs on the back of the TNC before I could install.

No cons. Wish list would include having software configure to given com ports, instead of through Windows (Admin permission problem on windows vs. software setups.) Still product did exactly as it was advertised, and my small COM port problem is fixed!

Cons
- Pc auto shutdown issue
- Reassigns COM port often
Best Uses
Comments about 6ft USB Serial DB25 Adapter Cable:
Works well once you know the quirks.
Any usb memory drives in use causes the pc to reassign the COM port number. Requiring a software setting to be changed.
Got to reboot the pc if auto shutdown occurs, otherwise pc won't load driver.
Need to add 96 bytes minimum at end of file, after %, to ensure that the buffer empties into CNC.
Far more reliable than the old 9 pin com ports.

- 6ft USB Serial DB25 Adapter Cable
Q:
Will this work with a HP Design Jet 430 Large-Format Printer? I need a 25 pin male serial interface cable for this printer that will hook up to USB. Bought this at an auction and it didn't come with the cables....I know I can connect with a standard cable, but need USB connection, if at all possible.Asked on 11/12/2012 by Debbiedoo from Moulton, AL1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It appears that HP Design Jet 430 printer requires a null modem cable. So if you have 22429, you would need a DB25 M/F null modem adapter (#02469) or a null modem cable (#03029) to make the proper connection to that printer.Answered on 11/15/2012 by Steve from C2G
