A low-cost alternative to high-priced active converters. Use this to connect the male end of an s-video cable to the female end of an RCA composite video cable. The Y/C signal separation circuitry provides a bright, crisp picture from a DVD player, VCD player, laser disc, VCR, camcorder, cable/DSS receiver or multimedia PC to an a/v receiver, TV or monitor. Gold terminals ensure long-lasting, corrosion-free connections. Passive construction; no power adapters are required.

I took a shot at trying this S-video to composite adapter to send a composite video signal from my blue ray player to my S-video input on my DVR with an S-video cable. The signal is a composite signal, or worse. Certainly not worth the effort. I would recommend this adapter for a quick connection to merge the two video streams; just don't expect a clear picture.
