Does your entertainment system have wooden doors, or would you like to mount your components in a closet? Without a clear line of sight infrared (IR) signals from a remote control will not reach the equipment. We have the answer. Our remote control repeater kit contains all equipment necessary to remotely operate 4 components (expandable to 12 components) using your standard remotes. Mount the IR receiver in a central location and connect to the IR distribution block. This block repeats the signals through emitters to your electronic components. Your components may now be mounted in your entertainment center, closet or another room! The kit is self-contained and easy to connect. With this kit, you may mount a receiver in a convenient place on or near your entertainment system. The receiver has a 9 foot cable that is then attached to the repeater system that is mounted in your entertainment cabinet. The kit includes 4 emitters. These emitters are connected from the repeater system and placed over the IR receiver of the equipment. The IR receiver and IR repeater have blinking blue LEDs to confirm receipt of the IR signal; the IR repeater is designed for mounting on shelf or wall. You can use your existing remotes for simple installation and hookups. Packaged for resale. For your convenience, the AC/DC Adapter (#98025) is available for this item. To order this replacement part, please call us at 1-800-506-9607. Please Note: Careful consideration must be used when placing the IR receiver near a plasma display. Since a plasma display emits IR frequencies during use, it may cause interference. At this time, the AT&T U-Verse cable boxes are not compatible with the Cables To Go IR Receiver Kit. The product team at Cables To Go is working hard to find a solution for this issue and will update you as soon as possible. Replacement components may be ordered online: 10ft Infrared Receiver with 3.5mm Plug (#98045), 10ft Single Infrared Emitter Cable (#40432) and 10ft Dual Infrared Emitter Cable (#40433).

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

When we mounted the TV on the Stair wall there was no place for the cable box/DVR. This device allowed us to put the box around the corner in another room. And yes, it works fine with Optimum's Scientific Atlanta 8300HD box. We just made sure the IR emitter was right over the IR receiver on the box. Absolutely worth the price.

My new cable box, Motorola DCX3400 did not work because of the location of the IR receiver. I installed the repeater and it works flawlessly, problem solved!!

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

Unfortunately this kit does not work with my Scientific Atlanta (Cisco) CIS330 cable box. Just a heads up for anyone who is looking to use this with the same cable box. It does work with my other devices seemingly well, but I only needed it for the cable box, so its of no use to me.

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

I haven't tried others, but it doesn't look like I need to. This thing is great. It has four hookups and I used them all. Picks up the IR signal from my remote and transmits instantly to the four receivers hidden in a closed cabinet. The devices receiver has a light that blinks when it receives the signal so you know it is working.

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

System includes a Sony Blue-ray, Motorola Satellite receiver and a Harmon Kardon AVR210
System worked with the Satellite box immediately, but I could not get the Harmon Kardon receiver to work with the supplied emitter.
I called tech support and they did not have any recommendations.
Based on a tip on a website, I tried plugging directly into the IR in on the HK with a cable I use to plug my iPhone into my car stereo.
Now I have the whole system working!

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

I have a TV in my room and got this to install the cable box and DVD in the closet behind the TV. So far I have position the receiver in every possible position and the darn thing works intermittently. Tried also removing the glue from the sensor on the cable box, and still no luck.
So, called tech support and they only work the hours that I am at work.... great help that is......

No way would I recommend this at this time.

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

Does not work 100% of the time with my plasma. Blue LED emits a low blink almost all the time, and glows bright when a button is pressed. Sometimes the signal repeats as if the button was held.

If the receiver can be positioned just right, its worth the money

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

We used this to send the IR control to a video projector mounted high out of reach in a church video projection system. We hardwired the IR sensor to the stage over 250 feet of shielded twisted pair cable and it works perfect. Also tired to remote the IR computer keyboard, but that did not work.

This is a great product that can be found for about [$] online. It's the best way to resolve the issue of opaque cabinets blocking infrared signals. The installation took about 2 minutes.

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

When I had gotten the product I was excited about using this IR extender. I was disappointed that I had to modify the IR Receiver Cable in order to extend the cable at a distance of approximately 90', which I was hoping for pheniox connector. But because I'm very fimilar with controls and solder technics I had no problems. Although, I'm not all that fimilar with IR Extenders, I was rather disappointed at the manual and how it had a lack of informtion. This product works great for short distances to a simple plug n play.

Service & Delivery comments:

Delivery was quick and prompt. The packaging was great and secure.

Comments about Cables To Go Infrared (IR) Remote Control Repeater Kit:

I mounted my plasma on the wall in the family room and moved all my A/V equipment into the basement below it. The 40430 extends the remote to the basement with minimal lag time. A/V Receiver, DVD Player and Cable Box (FIOS QIP 6416) all work well. I have the IR receiver under a bookcase so the remote control range is reduced but I am sure this would not be true if the receiver was out in the open.
