This was purchased to be used on the newest (4th Generation) iPod Touch. The audio is fine and I kept it to use as an iPod dock for the hiFi. I wanted to use it in the minivan to show video. That is the only part that does not work. But the sound is good.

Used to watch movies purchased from Itunes website. Will work with the older 30 gig ipod classic. Does not work with my newer 160 gig ipod. Very satisfied with this purchase overall.

unit olny plays video for 1st and 2nd gen. nano's other than that its great for charging, docking, and just sound.

I bought an iPod-USB cable at a local discount store. Before opening it, I found this docking station that seemed to good to be true for the price (roughly half the price I paid for a simple cable), but I decided to get one. It not only does everything claimed, but I even found a couple of little features that aren't even mentioned. I feel like I got MORE than I paid for - which is very rare!

This cheap compared to most other offerings form other companies. Cheaply made, it sounds fine unless you have a bad onnection with the audio connector -- which happens often with these cheap units.
You can't adjust the size of the dock opening for diff size ipods, so all but the largest tend to be floppy on the mount. This doens't affect playing but it probably wears on the ipod's connector after a while. You'll want to shim all but he largest ipod.
Buy one, it if works okay keep it; if not send it back. Or spend twice or more the money for one from Apple, etc.
Otoh, I have used a variety of diff more expensive units and they have all failed while my Cables to go units continue to work! Go figure!

When I saw this I bought it because the price was right. I thought how could I go wrong. Well, I have mixed feelings now that I have it. It works perfectly with my iPod clasic. Very nice and quite useful. The problem is I bought it for my iPhone 3GS. It doesn't work. Its fine as a charger but don't plan on getting audio through the dock. I have resorted to unplugging the 1/8" plug from the rear of the device and plugging it directly into the phone. This works but not nearly as convenient as what I thought I was getting. The documentation on the website lead me to believe it was compatible with the entire iPod line. If there was an exception for the 3GS it was not clear. Now I"m not out a lot of money but I would be out nothing had this compatability issue been made clear.

This unit had bad sound quality. All compents felt as if they were made out of cheap plastic. The sound output from base was very distored when I plugged it into my Marantz receiver. DO NOT BUY

Overall this is a good value docking station. I wanted a dock that could replace my simple audio minijack to left/right RCA cable setup with a product that could charge, send audio, send video, have remote control feature, and at the same time was very affordable. After much research, this dock fit the bill in all cetergories and was surprisingly much lower in price than I would have expected to pay.

The a/v cable that came with this dock, with the 1/8" jack to RCA yellow/white/red lines, made the audio sound bad. I got buzzing and hisses. Swapped it out for a spare cable that only had the red and white RCA output, the sound was awesome. Good product otherwise; even the cost of buying your own cable shouldn't deter you. You're not going to find a better product for the price.

This product has visual problems not shown in the ad and did not function properly. The main unit has a bright blue light that is like a flashlight in your face at night. The power unit has an equally annoying red light that contributes to making nighttime listening like sitting in rush hour traffic. If you listen to your iPod at night while you sleep, do not buy this unit. As a final blow, the video output did not work. While Cables-To-Go is a great company with great products, this one is a dud.
