The Audio CrossPlay by Cables To Go is ideal for sharing portable devices among different outputs. It is also ideal for sharing two separate portable audio devices between two users. With a simple touch of a button, one or both of the audio inputs can be sent over either audio output. Plug in two different MP3 players and listen to one or both over headphones, speakers, or both. Or, connect a laptop or desktop and switch between headphones and speakers without having to disconnect the speakers/headphones each time. The convenient mute feature allows muting of each output independently so everything can be left connected even when not in use. With the Audio CrossPlay, the possibilities are abundant!

Some examples of applications include:
  • Switch between connected inputs and outputs to utilize all portable audio equipment easily
  • Share one speaker and headphone set between two computers
  • Perfect for desktop/laptop users to listen to computer audio files over the computer speakers while using a headset to talk on a VOIP chat
  • Plug in an iPod and a Creative Zen™ and listen to either one over the speakers or headphones, or both! Or, listen to the Zen through the headphones and the iPod through the speakers at the same time.
  • Use in the car to plug in a DVD player and an MP3 player and two headphones. Now, two users can share the same audio output or listen to a different audio output over separate headphones without disturbing other passengers

Comments about Cables To Go Audio Crossplay:

I bought two of these - one for home and one for work. The one at work has lots of noise even with only headphones connected. I tried both USB power from the PC and AC power from the provided brick. With both I had a lot of noise. However, at home it works great! I've swapped the home & work units and continued to hear noise at work and clean audio at home.

I hope Cables To Go will consider adding some technology to filter noise from the power source.

Comments about Cables To Go Audio Crossplay:

Received too much noise when adding a second source. Product did not work - signals were not switched between source inputs. Did not receive a clean signal when two sources were attached. Works ok with one source but then what is the point?

Cables To Go Response: Please give us a call at 800-826-7904 opt 6 in order to troubleshoot this issue. That device should not have noise when adding 2 source devices. Our technical support staff will be able to determine if you have received a bad unit.

Comments about Cables To Go Audio Crossplay:

This audio switch is somewhat noisey. It has an annoying background hiss/noise that is very distracting. Other than that, it works well.
