We bought the Agile RCA Video Modulator as we needed to transmit the output of a HD Satellite receiver to the other TV sets in our house. Our house has video amplifiers so we can send analog cable TV signals to all the television sets. we use the modulators to put the satellite receivers on unused channels 79 and 89. Comcast recently halved the number of analog channels in their basic service so we added a second sat receiver to give us a wider choice of channels rather than go with a digital box per TV.

I have another brand of agile RF modulator which I used with my DVR. I needed a second one to work with another DVR for my system so I purchased the Impact Acoustics model #41164. The power output on this unit provides an extremely weak signal which is unusable. I have tried it out, to no avail, in various configurations (different channel selections, different RCA cables, different DVRs, and with and without using the aerial input on the #41164). Conversely, the other brand I have worked flawlessly when placed into these scenerios, too bad it's no longer available anywhere ;-(
