Our entertainment systems have evolved over time with restrictions of budget against the latest and greatest technology. The first core item was a large screen TV purchased in 2001. It still is capable of producing a lovely HD display, but has only one component video input. This remote switch has allowed a convenient integration of HD sources bypassing either accepting lower quality video or physically switching the cables. Only been in use for a month, so I can not speak to long term reliability but so far it is a good product.

This is my second unit. The first one worked for a while then the optical audio died. Bought another one that worked for a while then the Red component video output stopped working. I will NOT be buying a third one.

This is an absolute must have for any home entertainment owner. I purchased this to have additional optical inputs for my home theater system. My surround sound system only has one optical input, and since I didn't want to run an optical cable from my tv speakers (they're full of static), I bought this so that I could connect my components (satellite receiver, PS3, blu-ray player, PS2)directly to my surround sound receiver via this switch. All I have to do is press either one, two, or three and this selector will switch my surround sound to the correct component. I have the satellite box on input one, PS3 on input two, and the blu-ray player/PS2 on input three. Even most high end receivers only have two optical inputs, so this switch is a must have for a complete home theater experience.

I have a central media system that has an A/V Receiver that has only two component inputs and uses the Toslink audio for digital sound. I have two new TiVo Premiere XLs and a DVD player, all of which needed a component input and Toslink input. I installed this unit in the middle of April, and it worked perfectly. It did exactly what I needed it to do, and I was able to program my Harmony remote to switch between the inputs, along with the other necessary commands. It is now the middle of October, and the unit has died. I discovered interference lines on my screen last night, and in trying to determine which piece of equipment was causing the problem, I discovered that this unit would no longer switch between inputs. I unplugged it, let it sit, and then tried again. I was able to get it to switch for about a minute, but then it would freeze again, and the lines won't go away. I will be contacting Cables To Go about how to replace the unit, as it is still under its 1-yr warranty. It is still the best thing out there for my purposes, so I'm sticking with it, but it is very frustrating to have it die so soon. I would still recommend purchasing it, if your needs require it, but I would caution you to keep your eyes open for any issues with it.

I have a 2002 crt HDTV with one component input. I also have a PS3, an HD cable dvr . I was able to find an HDMI to rgb component cable, and a av to component for the PS3 All the video outputs are now switched into the tv, and all the toslink digital sounds switch into the independant amplifier. i can watch HD quality form multiple sources. The box is small. tidy and easy to set up. The remote is also small discreet and simple.

The product does what it says, does it well and is no bigger than it neds to be

Could not get the remote to work. It often fails to switch from one input to the other unless I unplug it and plug it back in.

One of my HD TV's (older 65" Mitsubishi) has only one Hi-Def (1080i) component input and no HDMI input.

Bought a BluRay player and also have a Hi-Def Tivo box.

Bought this product to enable easy switching and actually expected a slight loss of definition. None whatsoever - this product delivers what it says. Very easy to set up and well made.
