Comments about Cables To Go TruLink® 4-Port Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit:

Setup was easy and the product was up and running with little effort. Connection reliability is a major issue though. Any time the connection was lost due to the laptop going into sleep mode, or the host usb cable was disconnected, it was very difficult to re-establish the connection. There was no automatic polling and most of the time it required re-association with the host.

Comments about Cables To Go TruLink® 4-Port Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit:

Just got this today for work, but took it home to experiment. Connected external USB drive and it worked well. Added my iPhone so I could synch with files on that external drive - no go! Only lets me run the drive or the iPhone but not both. Another complaint is that the adapter is large, so when plugged into my laptop it blocks part of the second USB port.

Great in concept and based on your desired use this may be a good tool.

Comments about Cables To Go TruLink® 4-Port Wireless USB Hub and Adapter Kit:

Outstanding piece of technology. I am using this wireless USB hub to run my Observatory. Basically to eliminate a number of wires going to my telescope platform I have my computerized telescope and mount control, deep sky imaging camera, autoguider, and a bluetooth dongle plugged into the hub outside. With my PC am able to move the scope to different locations in the sky and conduct deep sky imaging all from the comfort of the inside of my observating location. The hub is USB 2.0 and downloading long exposure images from the imaging camera at 35MB per image is smooth and fast. I have not notice any performance difference from when all of this was wired. This device is highly recommended especially if it is to be used in a less complex environment than what I have described above. No complaints, no issues. 5 Stars!

Cables To Go Response: This customer further wrote to us when he sent us photographs..."The pictures follow up on my review of the TruLink 4 Port Wireless USB Hub. As stated in the review, I use the hub to control my computerized telescope mount, the Atlas EQ-G via a Bluetooth module and dongle which is seen in the hub. The hub also connects a QHY8 Astronomical Camera, an Orion Starshoot Autoguide Camera, and an Orion USB Focus Module to focus the telescope via remote. All of this is connected wirelessly to a Dell Quad Core PC with Vista where Astro Images are captured and processed using four different software applications all running without issues. Those are TheSky 6 used to point the scope and point, Nebulosity used to image, PHD Autoguiding Soft used to keep the scope pointed on an object with pinpoint accuracy, and EQMOD a software interface used to communicate with the telescope mount and planetarium software as well as PHD to give instructions to the mount on where it is pointing in space. Also attached are two recent images M31 Andromeda Galaxy and M33 Triangulum Gallaxy."
