I don't believe TOSLink cables have to be heavy duty. I used some that were so heavy they pulled out of the back of my Home Theater Receiver. This cable is rugged enough but light enough to make the bends I needed. This cable worked perfectly and for the price I would definitely buy it again.

I received Apple TV from my son for Christmas. It worked great but my sound system is a bit complex and so could not get sound to feed back from my 52" Sharp HDTV to my DENON AVR2802 surround sound receiver. Both the Apple TV and the DENON had optical jacks but the two devices were over 12 feet apart and so I needed a longer cable. Most vendors only offered 6 foot cables, obviously not enough! Received your 5 meter cable plugged it in and instantly had great sound through my surround system! Thanks.

The product is good for my use. I have two short cables connected with a splitter. The long length is of a different quality, but for the two short lengths, this Toslink doesn't seem to degrade the quality of the sound.

Ihave an LG TV and a Sony amplifer system. I bought this optcal audio cable online. [...] The problem is that it barely fits in the jack resulting in choppy audio. I finally rigged into a position where it works great. If i move my system one inch, the sound is gone again.

I am using this optical cable between our BluRay player and the receiver for excellent sound. Very little to no distorsion noted. Some day they will have self installed optical ends so you can make your own cable length.

I needed a TosLink to mini-plug cable to connect a Cambridge Audio DacMagic, which by the way is an excellent dac (digital to analogue converter), to an Apple MacBook laptop computer. Rather than limiting myself to this one use of the cable, I bought this TosLink cable along with a TosLink to mini-plug right-angle adapter. I now can connect my CD player using this TosLink cable to my DacMagic, and along with the Toslink to mini-plug adapter, I can connect my MacBook to the DacMagic.

A great deal! The guys at the local electronics store wanted about a 100 dollars for this length of optical cable. Next time you need cables, skip the retail stores and log on to cables to go. They have great prices and you can also find those hard to find items like connectors to link different types of cables - all at good prices.
