Comments about Cables To Go 5m IEEE-1394a FireWire® 6-pin to 6-pin Active Extension Cable:

They do work but NOT up to "5" sections in series. I was only able to extend "3" together. DO NOT USE A POWERED HUB..They burn up if you use a powered hub, well at least mine did. They are a cheap solution but like everything you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting anything to spectacular but it does work. I was able to get by with "3" in series but when I added the 4th my computer no longer was able to find the camera.

Service & Delivery comments:

Outstanding as far as deliverly goes...always have been.

Comments about Cables To Go 5m IEEE-1394a FireWire® 6-pin to 6-pin Active Extension Cable:

Ordered two of these through 3rd party, online vendor. Both died with a loud pop and smell of burning electronics (causes me to think the capacitor died).

Service & Delivery comments:

Contacted service at Cables-To-Go, their response was essentially saying that they're not responsible for products being sold by 3rd part vendor, and that I should contact the vendor. 3rd party vendor said I should contact Cables-To-Go. This only frustrated the situation and I decided to go with a different product. I'd really love to see this one working.

Comments about Cables To Go 5m IEEE-1394a FireWire® 6-pin to 6-pin Active Extension Cable:

I bought this extender for routing Firewire devices across a room. Upon plugging the device into a Firewire hard disk, before connecting any other equipment, I heard a pop and immediately smelled smoke. I should note that I have connected other Firewire devices to this same disk, including other disks, and an Alesis MultiMix Firewire mixer, and eveything works fine. This cable died upon first use.

Service & Delivery comments:

After the first cable died, I contacted CablesToGo Customer Service, and Toby happily sent out a new cable. Unfortunately, the second cable failed in exactly the same way as the first, and subsequent attempts to contact Toby have not been successful. Now I have two dead cables, and no way to connect Firewire devices with them.

Was unable to reach my printer with any other available cables that would transfer my rather large files via firewire. This did the trick and have had nothing but complete satisfaction.
