With this dual coax design, the black-and-white picture detail information and the chrominance color information are transported on separate pathways. I get a great picture with this but you have to be carefull with connectors,they can come loose easily.

In my home I have three televisions, 1 dvd player that plays multiregion coded dvds, 1 dvd with a 160 gig harddrive and only 1 satalite receiver. I use several of these to send signals from one device to an other for both televisons, copying dvds, and using both dvd players on any one TV set or the other. I notice no line loss and they connect easily. I have purchased other spiltters from other companies and they were simply a block of plastic with the connections. This item is much more flexable in use being that it is a true Y connector and can directly hook to a unit and not need to have yet an other connection/add on wire. I have used these for several years now and have not found anything wrong, poorly made or likely to fail.
