Computers come with straight-in power connectors, but new Dell tower would not fit in old furniture because of extra depth required by power connector. Right angled one into the power supply solved that problem.

Replaced original Acer Aspire One power cord from the wall to the transformer. Plugs in and works just fine. Appears to be better engineered and constructed than the original and will likely long outlast the original. Our Acer Aspire One is a tough little net-book that's flown 167K+ miles in the past year (prob close to 300K since '08), comes on vacation with us and serves as our second computer when I'm home.

When my power cord was damaged, HP wanted to charge me $64 to ship me a replacement. I saved about $50 by buying the cord online. I think the replacement is sturdier than the original.
