Digital video (DV) camcorders, scanners, printers, videoconferencing cameras, and fixed disk drives can all share a common bus connection not only to a PC, but to each other as well. i own a canon zr500 5 years now but used only very rarely..i am ready to it give away to my young niece or nephew to practice. i checked if it can be connected to my laptop and pc..to my surprise all i need was this cable. true enough i was able to download the test video fr my zr500 into my laptop. i think i need to find a good video editing software next..

Cable is better and cheaper than what is available from Big Box store in town. Cable is rugged but very flexible and the connections are good and stay put once plugged in, does not pull out like other cables do. Price is comparable to other on-line retailers. Also bought a 4-6 pin firewire cable for PC to Sonny Ilink and it was good quality.
