Great cable, but just a few inches long, so you'll need to have a regular HDMI cable also. I used this to connect one of the newer Apple Macbooks to HD TV via HDMI. And it works great, no software required. It does not supply sound via the HDMI cable. You'll need another cable to route your sound.

Have a MacBook Pro and would like to use a big Plasma, LCD or LED as a monitor. This makes it all happen in one simple connection. I had been told I could do this using several cable connections (and a lot more money!)
I would suggest you run adds in Mac journals, etc., so other Mac people would know of its existence.
