For those who experienced a keyboard failure after plugging in the adapter more than likely will find the adapter does indeed work AFTER installing the adapter and rebooting the computer.

Cables To Go Response: Not all USB devices will work with PS/2 adapter. You have to check with the device manufacturer to see if there is compatibility.

The USB side had large ridges and had to be ground down smooth before they would fit in my PC

Cables To Go Response: FYI: That is not what this adapter is really for. This adapter takes a USB mouse or keyboard and allows it to connect to a PS/2 port on a computer. It does not work the opposite way. If you are connecting a PS/2 mouse or keyboard to a USB port on a computer, you would need our item #27225.

Would not work on my Dell laptop-System would not recognize. It's a great idea for compatible computer

Cables To Go Response: The USB device that he is using has to be compatible with both USB and PS/2 signals in order for this adapter to function correctly. If the USB device is only sending a USB signal, this adapter will not work. Certain keyboards and mice have a USB port and are compatible with both signal types.

The product was very well made, it would probably last forever under normal useage. My application was to be able to run two computers using one switchable Keyboard. Unfortunately I didn't realize that one of the computers couldn't use the keyboard that the other one used even though they were both Dell Computers, so the A/B Switch and the adapter I bought were all for nought.
