Cables To Go Launches Family of Connectivity Panels
Trulink Media Gateway products turn any room into a multimedia hub
for displaying content from an array of media devices

ORLANDO, FLA. (InfoComm 2011, Booth #2583) — June 15, 2011Cables To Go, the preferred provider of high-performance cabling and connectivity solutions, today announced the introduction of the TruLink Media Gateway product family of connectivity panels. The panels enable easy multimedia sharing and in-room entertainment for markets including corporate, hospitality, education and healthcare.

The TruLink Media Gateway products from Cables To Go provide plug-and-play connection ports for HDMI, VGA, composite video, 3.5mm audio, USB, Ethernet, Apple® devices, MP3 players and power receptacles. Users can connect their laptops, portable media devices, DVD or Blu-Ray players, gaming consoles or any other compatible equipment to the Media Gateway and display them to a high-definition TV. Cell phones and MP3 players can be charged through the unit's USB port.

"People now carry their media on a vast array of equipment and devices, and the ability to handle all types of equipment is important whether they are in a guest room, classroom or boardroom," said Gary Hess, vice president of innovation for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. "The TruLink Media Gateway turns any room with a display into a multimedia hub that allows users to easily incorporate their own content and personal technology."

The automatic device detection of the gateway switches between active video inputs, and content is sent out to a display via a single HDMI cable. Connected CEC-compliant TVs will automatically power on and select the HDMI input on the TV when a device is connected.

Units are available in a desktop or an in-wall configuration, and organizations can customize the front plate to match the room décor or include the company's logo. Advanced connectivity allows easy firmware updates via the network in a matter of seconds, saving thousands of dollars in costs each time a new technology is introduced.

The first product in the line to ship is the TruLink Media Gateway model W1, which is designed for corporate and hospitality environments, such as conference rooms and guest rooms, to allow users to connect a wide variety of A/V equipment and portable media devices. It will be demonstrated at InfoComm in the Cables To Go booth (#2583).For more information, please visit http://www.cablestogo.com/mediagateway.
