Cables To Go Introduces Classroom A/V Controller
Wall mount keypad is easy to install, program and use
to control classroom audio/video equipment
ORLANDO, FLA. (InfoComm 2011, Booth #2583) — June 15, 2011 — Cables To Go, the preferred provider of high-performance cabling and connectivity solutions, today introduced its TruLink A/V Controller for centrally operating projectors, DVD and Blu-Ray players, document cameras and other devices used in K-12 classrooms.
The TruLink A/V Controller from Cables To Go is a wall mount keypad that features eight interchangeable buttons and allows up to four programmable commands per button. There are multiple options for programming the devices, and when equipment is added or upgraded changes can be made without removing the controller from the wall.
"With the A/V Controller, we are drawing on our decades of experience in connectivity to develop a product that is easy to use and reliably controls A/V signal distribution throughout the classroom," said Gary Hess, vice president of innovation for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. "The Cables To Go A/V Controller makes things easier for everyone—from the teacher using it, to the technician installing it, to the IT staff supporting it later."
The A/V Controller provides both infrared and RS232 control for devices as well as USB on-the-go (OTG), which is used to program and update software by connecting a laptop or a thumb drive to the front USB port. This greatly simplifies the programming process when new equipment is installed or existing equipment is upgraded.
Other key features include:- Custom adapter for easy and reliable infrared, RS232 and power cable connections
- Integrated clock for auto shutdown and power on at selected times
- Easy script download from controller to USB flash drive to facilitate quick deployment of controllers on multiple classroom installations
The TruLink A/V Controller will be demonstrated at InfoComm in the Cables To Go booth (#2583). Customer demos can also be arranged by contacting a Cables To Go account manager or controllerinfo@cablestogo.com.
